First year VSA camp in Czech Republic
On Saturday June 17th, an inaugural VSA 1-day training camp in Czech Republic took place on the pitch in Nemilany (near Olomouc). It was enthusiastically attended by nearly 60 talented footballers aged 7-13 from different parts of the country. The day started with group and individual demonstration training, which was attended by players from the FK Šumperk and SK Sigma Olomouc elite groups, who have been training in our local academy for the last six months. After that, players split into small training units of 6-8 players.
The afternoon break was used by the coaching staff to talk to the players about new and interesting information in football development abroad. In all, eight coaches and professional footballers ran the whole-day training sessions. The biggest attraction not only for young boys was the participation of football coach from Dortmund, Andy Raducan, and professional players Kamil Vacek and Šimon Falta, to greatly enhance and complement my own presence as the academy’s founding Czech coach “from Canada.” The event was highly successful and the organizers are already planning another such camp.
