Libor Volf was a First Division, Czech soccer professional through 2006-2009, including national squad appearances. He spent the last three years of his career until 2011 in Spain, where he not only began training youth, but laid the parallel groundwork to playing, particularly the investigation of mental health development related to sports. Libor took those insights and has tailored them to the vitally important structured development program starting at the earliest stages of childhood. He has since continuously built successfully upon that with Volf Soccer Academy’s (VSA) efforts.
One of the key differentiators of Libor’s training and development philosophy, as applied within VSA, is that as the sport has evolved over the years, and continues to do so, it requires constant adjustment, embracing new techniques and trends, and introducing them into practice with academy participants. As such, Libor travels regularly to visit top-tier European soccer clubs, where he stays connected with emerging and current training practices, and maintains his network of professional soccer contacts. This allows him to bring the best of professional soccer practices to VSA in Canada and abroad.
Over the past 5 years, Libor has visited and worked with a few of the world’s best youth academies in La Masia (FC Barcelona), Ajax Amsterdam, Borrusia Dortmund, and Valencia CF. In addition, he has personally run dedicated training camps periodically in the Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, Iceland, Uganda and US (Los Angeles), Dubai and Cairo. His Ugandan efforts have now expanded into a full-time VSA academy in Kampala.
